The Law Enforcement Response to Sexual Violence Calls

This training offers a comprehensive, trauma-informed and victim-centered approach to law enforcement response to sexual violence. It covers the neurobiology of trauma, reporting and writing for crimes against persons cases, and police response to various types of scenes including hospital and active crime scenes. It also includes strategies for taking delayed reports, effective interviewing, and building a successful case for prosecution.

Sticks & Stones: The Language We Use to Talk About Sexual Violence Matters

What’s the difference between saying sexual assault versus rape, victim versus survivor, or allegation versus statement/report? Justice professionals play critical roles in how the public views sexual violence. When language falls short of being survivor-centered, it’s our responsibility to correct course.
